This magical mountain getaway cabin is a quick scenic drive to Boulder and is just two miles from the colorful mountain town of Nederland. The cabin is in the riparian valley, surrounded by Boulder County Open Space and the beautiful Roosevelt National Forest.
Built in the early 1900s, and remodeled in the late 1990s to include modern amenities. The owners left as much of the original historic cabin as possible, keeping the original hardwood floor, and recycling some of the old materials back into the cabin remodel. The furnishings and artistic blends that decorate the cabin are from local and global artists. For the history buff, the valley is full of mining history including the cabin itself! You’ll be staying at the gateway house that folks would enter to get to the New Cardinal historic mill. Which was one of the largest gold mines in the area.

As people who love traveling with their dog (we have a huge German Shepherd) – we love this post! The cabin around Arapaho and Roosevelt National is stunning and definitely more an out of the way location that we would love. Also loving the mountain Cabin with Denver Lights views. Anytime we can get somewhere out of the way but still somewhat see the city like this we feel at peace – but not worried about getting groceries and stuff for the weekends!

Gorgeous cabins! Would love to take my dog here, but won’t be able to take my dog to the States anytime soon. I’ve forwarded this post to two friends who live in Colorado that complain that they can’t travel with their dogs, but now they have no excuse. My only problem is each cabin looks so fabulous, I wouldn’t know which one to choose.

Holy Crud, where do I begin…to be honest all of these cabins look amazing. Plus bonus if you have pets since they are pet friendly too! We dont have any pets but our friends live in Aurora and we keep saying we want to take a trip with them but they have two dogs so its always a bit tricky.
I am a bit torn between the Cozy St. Mary’s Escape with that Hot Tub & amazing Mountain Views in Idaho Springs and the Serene Solitude A-Frame Cabin in Allenspark! The A-frame I think might be better for just a romantic weekend with Darcee but the St. Mary’s Escape may be perfect for our Aurora & us gang.

This makes me want to do a Rocky Mountains getaway! I really love the A-frame design of the Serene Solitude mountain, especially with those huge windows and beautiful views! The interior of the Ponderosa Pine Mountain Escape Cabin is also so pretty!
Our visit to Rocky Mountain National Park was cut short due to the weather/closing of the park’s main road. We’ll make it back someday though! There are so many cute cabins in Colorado, and they all have that “Colorado feel” to them.
