Cranking the thermostat cools the house faster

Many people set the thermostat to 60 degrees on a 95-degree day thinking the system will cool faster. In most central AC systems, the equipment cools at the same rate whether the thermostat is set to 72 or 60.
What changes is run time. If the target is set much lower than needed, the system usually runs longer before shutting off, which can raise electricity use and monthly costs.
Leaving the AC on all day always saves more
