Disney confirmed that MuppetVision 3D will close on June 7, 2025, at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. The attraction opened with Disney-MGM Studios on May 1, 1989, which means it will end a 36-year run when the final performances are held.
The company stated the closure is part of a planned redevelopment of the Grand Avenue area. MuppetVision 3D, a 3D film attraction featuring Kermit, Miss Piggy, and other Muppets characters, has remained one of the park’s few opening-day offerings still operating in its original form.
Disney also confirmed that nearby dining and retail locations in the same area will be affected by the project. The company has not announced a replacement opening date for the space tied to MuppetVision 3D.
What the closure means at Walt Disney World
For Central Florida visitors, the confirmed impact is limited to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, where MuppetVision 3D has operated for decades in the park’s Grand Avenue section. Disney has not released any wider list of additional Florida attraction closures connected to this specific announcement.
What is known is that guests visiting before June 7, 2025, will still be able to experience the show during regular park operations, subject to daily schedules. Disney has not stated whether any props, theater elements, or show features will be preserved for public display elsewhere at Walt Disney World.
The closure also removes one more original Disney-MGM Studios-era attraction from the park’s lineup. Hollywood Studios has already seen major changes over the past decade, including the addition of Toy Story Land in 2018 and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in 2019.
