As a Michigan native, I may be a bit biased – but I think Michigan is one of the most underrated states in the country. My midwest home state is home to the massive Great Lakes, and more than 11,000 inland lakes. I grew up on a lake and there are so many fun water sports and activities you’ll enjoy.

Best Time to Visit Michigan
The best time of year to visit Michigan depends on what you like to do. Fall turns the state into a beautiful collage of orange, yellows, and red. Winter is great for snowshoeing, ice caves, and frozen waterfalls.
Summer is the best time to visit Michigan for all the water fun! Swimming, paddleboarding, water skiing, boating, canoeing- there are so many to choose from. Spring is full of life as the cherry blossoms bloom in Traverse City, and the tulips make an appearance in Holland.
