Five “Must-Trys” To Put On Your Bangkok Itinerary
As diverse, as expansive, and as wonderfully expressive as it can be, there is never a shortage of things to do when you reach Bangkok. That said, there are a few experiences that stand out above the rest, and things you will kick yourself for if you don’t give them a try before leaving the city. We’re going to look at a few of those right here.

Take a trip to the Grand Palace
There are few places where you can truly feel the history and majesty of Thailand than at the opulent and gorgeous Grand Palace. This is the former residence of the Thai kings, and is also not too far from one of the best temples in the country, as well. Wat Phra Kaew, also known at the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, is one of the most popular and sacred temples in the whole country.
Find your footing on the Floating Markets
Bangkok is a large and diverse town, and you might be surprised just how much the scenery can change from one district to the other. While seeing the many districts Bangkok has to offer, you should make sure to take a boat out to the floating markets, such as Damnoen Saduak or Amphawa, so you can have a shopping experience like never before, with handmade crafts, local delicacies, and all sorts in a truly unique setting.
Try a diversity of foods
Thai street food is famous for offering a wide range of different treats, such as Pad Thai, Sum Tum, and much more. However, while street food is part of the culinary culture you should indulge in, don’t neglect the fusion food that can be found at spots like the top Mediterranean restaurant in Bangkok, either. The city is, simply put, a foodie’s paradise, with a neverending variety to try.
Sail along the Chao Phraya River
The river that runs through the city is one of its most defining characteristics. By taking a boat ride or tour along the river, you can get a look at many of the city’s iconic landmarks, allowing you a perspective of the city that simply not enough people take the time to truly indulge. Sailing along the river as part of a dinner cruise can be a wonderful way to spend the evening.
Take a walk through the city’s largest green space
The metropolitan and truly diverse sprawl of cultures that makes up Bangkok can be disorienting, so taking the time to enjoy a little peace in a much more natural space can be the perfect way to charge your batteries and get right back in. Lumpini Park is the perfect place for just that, allowing you to watch the wildlife, take a relaxing walk, and see all sorts of flora and fauna, including large monitor lizards.
It would be incredibly easy to add five more entries to this list here (and that might happen at some point) but make sure that you leave enough time to explore your own wants and whimsies while exploring the city, as well.
