Top 3 Districts In Bangkok Worth Visiting

If you’re looking for great travel destinations, Thailand should be at the top of your list. Located in Southeast Asia, this country is known for its tropical climate, wonderful beaches, and stunning Buddhist temples. We could single out various places in this country to visit, but we’ll start with one of the most popular and obvious tourist destinations: Bangkok.

These are the top 3 districts in Bangkok worth visiting!

This is Thailand’s capital city and it’s abuzz with life and things to do. It’s a relatively big city as well, split into multiple districts/neighborhoods. In this post, we’ll give you a quick guide to 3 of the best Bangkok districts you should add to your travel itinerary:

Chinatown

Bangkok’s Chinatown district is one of the busiest places in an already busy city. It’s a phenomenal site to behold as the streets are laden with traditional Chinese market stalls and it feels like you’ve been transported to Beijing. If you like exploring, it’s the place to be – walk around the narrow streets, try loads of different food from market stalls, and uncover a range of glorious hidden temples.

If you’re looking for a great place to fill your Instagram with stunning photos, Chinatown is a neighborhood you have to visit. It’s probably not the best place to stay, but you can easily get there via local Bangkok transport routes.

Where to Stay in Chinatown Thailand

Thonglor

Over to the western side of Bangkok, you’ll encounter one of the freshest areas of the city. ThongLor is an incredibly hip place that’s full of young people, nightclubs, and beautiful restaurants. The funny thing is, we’ve spoken about Chinatown in Bangkok, but many people see this area as a little slice of Japan in Thailand! It’s a super modern place with great skyscrapers, loads of creative cultural spots, and a plethora of bars most hipsters would love to be in.

Finding a hotel in ThongLor is easy too – it’s one of the best places to stay in Bangkok as the streets are safe and clean, and you’ll find plenty of places to eat or relax. It’s one of those districts you must visit just to get a completely different experience of this busy city. Sometimes you’ll be left scratching your head wondering how you’re still in Bangkok!

Rattanakosin

Many people see the Rattanakosin district as the spiritual birthplace of Bangkok. It’s home to some of the best sightseeing spots in the city, including the mesmerizing Grand Palace. Loads of other temples are visible here and the area sits on the Chao Phraya River. This is the largest river in Bangkok that takes you all around the city, passing through some great districts and neighborhoods. Rattanakosin is a gorgeous place to visit while you’re here and it definitely immerses you in traditional Bangkok culture.

Honestly, you could spend well over a week in Bangkok alone during a visit to Thailand. The entire country is worth exploring too, and it’s one of the best places to plan a road trip in Southeast Asia. Pretty much all flights to Thailand land in Bangkok, so at least you now know some great places to visit during your time in the city.
